Bankruptcy cases are heard in different court sites throughout Arizona. These court sites are Phoenix, Tucson, Yuma, Prescott, Flagstaff, and Bullhead City.
Cases originating in Apache, Gila, Maricopa or Navajo Counties will be heard in Phoenix. Cases originating in Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Pinal, and Santa Cruz counties will be heard in Tucson. Cases originating Yuma and La Paz counties will be heard in Yuma. For cases originating in Coconino, Mohave, and Yavapai counties it is somewhat more complicated because cases in they may be heard in Prescott, Flagstaff, or Bullhead city as the Court may direct.
A party who wished to change the site of a particular case, can file a motion explaining the grounds for the change. The granting of such a motion is committed to the bankruptcy court’s jurisdiction.
